Bio
Vladimír Kiva Novotný je český autor žijící mezi
Prahou a Brnem, jehož tvorba se dlouhodobě
zaměřuje na téma času – pomíjivosti, proměn
a zastavení okamžiku. Ve své volné tvorbě toto
téma zkoumá prostřednictvím portrétu, krajina zátiší.
Jeho krajinářské cykly vznikají jako pečlivě
promyšlené dlouhodobé projekty, nesoucí jemnou
stopu pozorování a minimalistické nuance. V por-
trétní fotografii mu pak jde především
o zachycení autentického okamžiku – chvíle,
kdy sevýraz člověka potkává s jeho vnitřním prožitkem.
Vystudoval Institut tvůrčí fotografie v Opavě,
kde později také vyučoval. Kromě volné umě-
lecké tvorby se věnuje fotografii zejména v ob-
lasti architektury, designu a portrétu.
Jeho práce jsou součástí sbírek prestižních
institucí, jakými jsou Muzeum města Brna,
Moravská galerie v Brně nebo Sbírka Roberta
Runtáka, a rovněž řady soukromých sbírek.
Pravidelně také vystavuje v pražské galerii
Etcetera, která se zaměřuje na současné
autory s výrazným rukopisem.
Za svou tvorbu získal několik významných
ocenění – mimo jiné vítězství v soutěži Czech
Press Photo 2018 a nominaci na Fotografa
roku v rámci Czech Grand Design za rok 2015.

Vladimír Kiva Novotný is a Czech artist living

focused on the theme of time – transience, change,
and the stilling of a moment. In his free work, he
explores this theme through portraits, landscapes,
and still lifes.
His landscape cycles are carefully thought-out,
long-term projects, bearing subtle traces of obser-
vation and minimalist nuances. In portrait photo-
graphy, he is primarily concerned with capturing
an authentic moment – the moment when a per-
son‘s expression meets their inner experience.
He graduated from the Institute of Creative
Photography in Opava, where he later also taught.
In addition to his independent artistic work, he is
involved in photography, particularly in the fields
of architecture, design, and portraiture.
His works are part of the collections of prestig-
ious institutions, including the Brno City Museum,
